One of the founders of popular file-sharing website Pirate Bay, Peter Sunde, also known as Brokep, has reportedly been arrested in Sweden by police forces after a raid on a farm in the country’s southern region. He is in custody to serve an outstanding sentence for copyright violations after being on the run for nearly two years.
The national Swedish tabloid Expressen first reported about the arrest. According to the report, a representative for the Swedish police confirmed that Sunde was in custody.

“We have been looking for him since 2012,” said Carolina Ekeus, spokeswoman at the Swedish National Police Board. “He was given eight months in jail so he has to serve his sentence.”
Pirate Bay, launched in 2003, provided links to music and movie files that were stored on other users’ computers. Since then, million of users have accessed Pirate Bay to download movies, music, ebooks and other files for free. Despite the arrest of Peter Sunde, the website is still functioning.
