Remember back when the Internet was terrible, it took a good 15 minutes to connect, and you couldn’t use the phone at the same time? Remember how much time you actually spent outdoors, meeting your family and friends face-to-face?

Well, Google is looking to bring back those good times. By just entering Dial-Up Mode on your computer, you will be able to indulge in nostalgia by bringing back the 90s: slowing down Internet speeds by 376 times, skive off from work citing bad connection, or actually meet your parents face-to-face instead of messaging them.

Of course, Dial-Up Mode is just an April Fools’ joke, and no one would really want to use it (except angry mothers trying to get their kids to do their homework). The video was great to watch, though, allowing us to hear the sounds of Internet past, and even catch a glimpse of Google’s Jolly Good Fellow, Singaporean Chade-Meng Tan.

This was just one of Google’s many April Fools’ gifts to us, which included Google Maps Pacman (try playing it through Orchard Road), a selfie mode in the Google Chrome app to record your reaction, and even a backwards Google, hosted on com.google!
